The
Symposium is an intensive program of Pastoral Juvenil Hispana
based on the Prophets of Hope model.
It offers a pastoral vision as well as content and evangelizing tools for faith
formation and effective leadership. Participants will take back to their local
community tools to start or to improve a comprehensive youth and young adult ministry,
grounded in the reality of the Catholic Church and society in the USA.
A comprehensive youth and young adult ministry
requires a shared leadership that is active, responsible and communitarian,
in the context of a small community, youth group, or apostolic movement. This
approach prepares youth and young adults for their evangelizing mission and
sets the foundation for a deeper pastoral training.
Some of the themes to be covered are:
-
Analysis of the reality of Latino youth in the USA
-
Interpersonal relationships in the community
-
The Church as a community of communities
-
Being a Christian means knowing and following Jesus
-
Processes of formation and growth in the Church
-
Leadership and service in a communitarian ministry
-
Applying the Symposium experience in pastoral practice
