"The
books and manuals produced by FE Y VIDA are of
high quality, present the material in a dynamic and
participative
manner, and speak to our reality and experiences
as Hispanics in different stages of integration
in the culture of the U.S. They are very useful for
me as a professor in the Instituto’s programs
and in my own ministry."

Spiritual Director, St. Mary’s Seminary, Houston, TX
What kind of publications does Fe y Vida
have to offer for my ministry with Hispanic youth and young adults?
Instituto Fe y Vida’s team of writers has been
developing publications to support this ministry
since 1987. Whether you are looking for reflection
materials for your group, training materials for
your leaders, resources to help you ground your ministry
in God’s Word, or ideas to help you reach
the hearts and minds of the Hispanic youth and
young adults in your care, we have the books and articles
you need:
The
Witnesses of Hope Collection. Published by Saint Mary’s Press
in both English and Spanish versions, this collection
includes three series of books that provide the foundations
and the building blocks for creating a vibrant ministry
with Hispanic adolescents and young adults. At the
core of this collection—which includes two
theoretical volumes, two manuals for creating and
developing communities, and three formation books—lies
the Prophets
of Hope Model, based on the priorities
outlined by the United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops (USCCB), with
insights from the Latin American tradition
of pastoral juvenil (ministry with single young
adults).
Biblical
Ministry Resources. La Biblia Católica
para Jóvenes (BCJ)—published with Editorial
Verbo Divino in Spain—is the first Catholic Bible in Spanish with commentaries
written specifically to help Hispanic youth and young
adults to know the Word of God, pray with it, and live it
from the heart. Additional resources for creating and supporting
a biblical ministry with Hispanic youth and
young adults are currently in development.
Pastoral
Resources. Hispanics already outnumber their
non-Hispanic White peers among Catholics under
age 30 in the U.S.—and their numbers are growing
fast. Are you preparing the young Hispanics in
your community to take their place as leaders in the Catholic
Church of the 21st Century? FE Y VIDA’S
Research and Resource Center is developing
the tools you need to create a ministry that will help
them overcome the challenges they face and develop
their gifts for service in the Church and society.
